In 1899, a pharmacist in Wells River, Vermont, concocted a miraculous potion for chafed and cracked cow udders, and the rumors about it quickly spread throughout the Northeast Kingdom. John Norris, upon trying the potion on his first cow, knew he had to do something. He scrimped and saved every penny he could to purchase the formula and the rights to market it.
